Your Destination Wedding: Plan For Fun

Your destination wedding will double as a vacation for everyone attending. It is important to ensure that the week or weekend is filled with fun activities and exciting adventures for everyone to enjoy.

You may have suggested a few events you have planned in the wedding invitations posted however a personal itinerary for each of your guests outlining all activities is always advised. Ensure to emphasize that they’re not all mandatory; vacations are also for relaxing and refreshing our bodies and minds.

With that in mind here are a few engaging group activities to consider that will get your guests mingling and enjoying great times together.

Welcome Cocktails – Invite everyone to gather by the bar, pool or beach after they’ve settled in. This is where introductions and reunions happen. Here everyone has a chance to get familiar with new faces; some unlikely friendships may bloom, or for family and friends to catch up over chilled drinks. An all inclusive hotel may already have this entailed in their package; even better!

Spa Day/Golf Day – The following day could be a dedicated spa day for the bridal party or golfing for the groomsmen, or a little of both for everyone. Decide on a time for your guests to gather as a group for a day of relaxation and light conversations. Every activity doesn’t have to demand high energies; you are on vacation after all.

Picnic – How about a flip-flops only picnic on the beach with beers and sandwiches? It sets a different mood than the usual 4 course rehearsal dinners and still leaves the opportunity for fun in the sun. Guests can lounge around sun bathing, go for a swim or sit back and sip mimosas all afternoon.

Excursion- There has to be one grand excursion before the big day. Think snorkeling, shopping out in the town, scuba diving or even a trip off hotel premises to visit a major tourist attraction; zip lining in Jamaica for example. This is a great opportunity to explore your host country and also perfect for group photos.

Wish Lanterns – A serene evening by the beach with some enthralling wish lanterns is the perfect way to end your wedding vacation. Invite your guests to make wedding wishes on your behalf and release them into the night sky. Here is where you thank all your guests for being a part of your special occasion and making wonderful memories with you and your partner. It is also another perfect group photo op.
